Introducing the Roland CAMMJET
The CAMMJET as a Printer
Roland is proud to launch the revolutionary CAMMJET 1440
dpi Piezo inkjet printer/cutter combining all of the printing
features of the award-winning Hi-Fi JET plus
full-contour cutting. The CAMMJET provides accurate, consistent
color simulation of PANTONE® Colors when printing in orange
and green. Just like the Hi-Fi JET, the CAMMJET
is calibrated for PANTONE® Hexachrome®† printing.
It can accurately simulate over 97% of the PANTONE® Colors.
The printing quality on the CAMMJET is outstanding with
user-selected options of 1440, 720, 540, 360 and 180 dpi
resolutions matched to Roland media for sign output.
The CAMMJET prints using six-colors, CMYK, plus Orange and
Green for vivid colors and PANTONE® Color matching or CMYK,
Light Cyan and Light Magenta for smoother gradations and
skin tones in photographic quality images. Independent testing
has shown Roland’s exclusive UV stable pigment inks to have
remarkable print permanence.
540 dpi = QUALITY + SPEED
The CAMMJET adds one print speed to the capabilities of the
Hi-Fi JET with 540 dpi. The addition of this
print speed – designed specifically for signmakers – the perfect
trade-off between speed and quality. 540 dpi produces excellent
photo-quality images every time on high-gloss vinyl and PET-G
media at the print speeds necessary for signmakers.

The CAMMJET as a Cutter
Roland is recognized in the sign industry for its superb media
moving and cutting engineering. The Roland CAMMJET features
the very latest in Roland cutting technology. As a sign cutter,
the CAMMJET utilizes the same cutting technology as Roland’s
high production CAMM-1 Pro series of vinyl cutters. Boasting
a maximum cutting speed of 24 inches per second, cutting increments
accurate to 0.025mm, and new curve smoothing functions to
enhance total throughput, the CAMMJET is truly the ultimate
sign production solution.
Automatic Optical Registration
One of the most exciting innovations on the new CAMMJET
is Automatic Optical Registration. This places registration
marks during printing so that output can be removed from
the CAMMJET for lamination then returned to the CAMMJET
for contour cutting. The CAMMJET automatically realigns
the cutting path and perfectly contour cuts – every time.
PANTONE® Calibrated
Roland's CAMMJET is a PANTONE® Calibrated printer. This means
Pantone, Inc. has developed color data that will best represent
PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM® Colors on the CAMMJET.
Remember, each printer model has its own color reproduction
capabilities and characteristics. Pantone color scientists
create specially tuned color data which optimizes the reproduction
of PANTONE Colors. This takes into
consideration all the color variables to determine the optimal
representation on that printer. Pantone takes into consideration
the ink set, paper stock, screening, driver and other issues
that affect color. The CAMMJET and the Hi-Fi JET
are the only six-color inkjet printing-devices that are PANTONE
Calibrated for PANTONE Hexachrome®.

The CAMMJET includes the powerful Roland ColorChoice®
3.0 Adobe® PostScript® 3™ software which provides
powerful RIP, cutting and output functions. ColorChoice®
3.0 software is designed specifically for print &
cut machines, so you can handle printing and cutting operations
simultaneously from a single data file from a wide range of
software applications including Illustrator 7.0/8.0 and Freehand
7.0/8.0.
The CAMMJET works with Windows® 98/95/NT 4.0 and Mac®. Included
ICC profiles are optimized for the specific Roland media,
the degree of resolution and the inkset to ensure ideal color
output every time.
Additional Features
It is critical that printers used daily in business be
easy to maintain and the CAMMJET is designed to do just
that. Large (220ml) capacity, changing ink cartridges is
a clean, one-step operation. And the CAMMJET monitors the
ink levels in each color, notifying the user when one color
needs replacing.
The CAMMJET features a media feeding mechanism designed
to keep media perfectly aligned for printing and cutting.
This translates into perfect registration of all six colors
on signs and posters as well as long, continuous printing.
Cutting distance accuracy is within 0.4% and the repetition
accuracy is only 0.004 inches or less!
The CAMMJET features Piezo print heads that have a proven
reputation for reliability. Equipped with automatic self-cleaning
functions, the print heads produce perfect print quality
every time.
Rolls or sheets of media are easily loaded and secured
with a single lever. Adjustable head heights (up to 1.0mm
media thickness for printing) are also managed with a single,
easily accessible lever.
An optional take-up system is available for rolling extra
long continuous-feed prints. This makes unattended printing
even easier.

print modes offering users a wide range of speeds and print
quality modes. The CAMMJET adds one print speed to the capabilities
of the Hi-Fi JET with 540 dpi. The addition of
this print speed – designed specifically for signmakers –
the perfect trade-off between speed and quality. 540 dpi produces
excellent photo-quality images every time on high-gloss vinyl
